James McNaught

BSc, MMRS – Researcher

In denial of being an underwhelming golfer. Listens to horror movie podcasts whilst exercising. Extreme softy around pets despite portraying a serious and mean face in the gym.

What I do

Week-to-week, my role is highly varied. I conduct interviews, administer questionnaires, conduct desk research and contribute to quantitative and qualitative data analysis on projects.

I am enjoying applying the skills I learnt at university to commissioned research projects – designed to make an impact.

Areas of specialism

My undergraduate degree was in sports science, through which I gained skills in quantitative research and statistical analysis. Prior to joining Harlow, I worked as a personal trainer, while continuing to build my knowledge of research in several areas surrounding sports science, such as biomechanics, physiology and nutrition.

I specialise in literature reviews and rapid evidence assessment, and also work on a wide range of evaluation projects.

The chronic anger of being born too late to have seen his favourite musical artists in their prime (Oasis, Guns N’ Roses and Metallica)!
