Harlow Consulting has supported SDS in the first phase review of construction Modern Apprenticeships in Scotland, specifically for Design & Contracting and Carpentry & Joinery. The development processes involved recruiting workshop participants (apprentices and employees) to scope out current and future skills needs, combined with a Scotland-wide online consultation exercise. The findings were used to develop competencies which were then used to inform the development of a competency-based qualification (development of units and qualification structure). The qualification development process involves working closely with the Development Manager to convene, manage and facilitate meetings of the Provider Advisory Group (PAG) and the Qualification Design Group (QDG) comprising representatives from awarding bodies and SQA accreditation.
